These lamb meatballs are easy, smell wonderful, and taste delicious. I baked them but you can boil them in stock or water instead. You won’t get the crisp outer edge that way.
- 2 lbs ground lamb
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 tsp allspice
- 2 tsp real salt
- 1 egg
- Preheat the oven to 350F
- Combine the spices, salt, slightly beaten egg, and ground lamb. We like to use our stand mixer for this.
- Roll into balls about 2 inches in diameter (they will cook down a bit).
- Place meatballs on a broiler pan or on a jelly roll pan with a rim so that the fat can drip off without making a mess in your oven.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until their internal temperature reaches 160F. (If you cook them too long they will dry out.)
Serve with tzatziki. This time I made mine with the liquid from fermented garlic instead of using garlic cloves. I also cut the cucumber in very small pieces. Yum!!!
