Joy is a natural problem-solver. Whatever your dietary challenge, she’ll help you understand it so you can be liberated from whatever it is that is holding you back. Whether you just need a bit of hands-on help getting all set for your new lifestyle, or you want to get your family, friends, and health care practitioners working together to support your health, she can help!

Joy holds the Permaculture Design Certification, and uses Permaculture Principles in all the work she does. The principles are a framework for approaching any whole-system design.

Joy also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Landscape Technology and certifications in Landscape Management and Construction from Portland Community College. She holds the OLCB’s Landscape Contracting Professional license and is in the process of getting her new business, Healing Landscapes, licensed, bonded and insured as a Landscape Contracting Business. She currently does garden design & maintenance.

Kelsy Dunlap

Kelsy loves to eat and eat well! Well-versed in from-scratch cooking techniques and food preservation, Kelsy freezes, cans, slow-cooks, pressure cooks, dehydrates, ferments, and bakes. She knows all about getting the best deals on healthy, local, high quality foods, and will help Joy connect you to the resources that can help you maintain your whole foods diet.

Kelsy holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry (’04) from Western Washington University and is currently finishing up her student teaching of high school chemistry and physics for her Masters of Arts in Teaching (’12) at Concordia University.

The Family

Together, Joy and Kelsy homeschool their 11 and 13 year old kids, Jupiter and Kodiak. The whole family has been gluten-free since November 2010 and on the GAPS diet since February 2011. Joy and Kelsy also run their own organic urban farm, The Rabbit Revolution, where they grow much of their own produce and raise chickens and rabbits for meat, eggs, soil amendment, and fun.
