Like our family, Lauren’s family was suffering from many ongoing health issues which have been dramatically helped by GAPS!She recently shared a 4 part presentation on the GAPS diet, which I’ve included below. Here is what she has to say about it:
My name is Lauren from Mindful Mama, and I am super excited to present to you today a 1 hour video overview of the GAPS program. I recently presented this to a group of people interested in GAPS and have had very positive feedback. My hope is that it will be an encouragement to those who are considering doing GAPS and want to learn more. It may even prove helpful for those already on the GAPS protocol. It covers the WHY, WHAT and HOW of the diet in a brief 1 hour presentation.
I am by profession, an emergency department RN, which has taught me more than I’d ever wish to know about mainstream medicine and its deficiencies. I have been actively pursuing natural health since the traumatic birth experience of my son in 2008. Since then I have examined the research available and subsequently re-examined my beliefs on issues such as natural birth, birth control, vaccines, circumcision, breastfeeding, common childhood medications and sicknesses, and traditional whole-foods diets. I became a doula in 2010, and am hopefully starting a nutritional therapy program in September.
My husband and I, along with our three kids, started the GAPS program 6 months ago due to a growing list of GAPS conditions including: IBS, lactose intolerance, autoimmune disease, sugar addiction, fatigue, persistent acne, chronic yeast, acid reflux and seasonal allergies. YUCK! We are finding GREAT success so far with this yummy diet, and hope to continue to see our problems disappear! Read more of my family’s story on Mindful Mama.
