But the winter holidays are upon us again and if we want to stay healthy to enjoy them, that means a recommitment to not getting our guts completely out of whack!
Here are some posts from past years to give you inspiration on dealing with the emotional and practical sides of staying healthy and happy through the holidays!
- The Holidays: Ideas for coping with family meals and holiday gatherings.
- Gluten Free Travel Essentials: Visiting friends or relatives? Be prepared!
- Happy Thanksgiving!: Last year’s Thanksgiving meal, with links to recipes!
- Grateful GAPS Holiday Foods Blog Hop: Gluten-Free, GAPS/SCD/Paleo Winter holiday treat ideas from all over the internet!
- Crazy Diet People: The first in a three part series on what it means to live with a special diet when your friends don’t get it.
- Halloween: Halloween is behind us, but I thought I’d include this post because it has tips for kids that you can apply to other holidays, too.
- Easter Bunny Blues: Easter is a ways away, but there are tips in here than can help now!
- Passover – What’s a Gluten-Free Jew to Do: Looks like I need a guest post specifically for Hanukkah! But some of the issues are the same, so I thought I’d include this one in the list, too.

I’ll be leading a discussion on this topic at the Mid-Willamette Valley GIG Chapter this Saturday, November 9th. If you are in the area, please join us! If not, see if you have a local Gluten Intolerance Group chapter! GIG is a great support!
